NEW YORK – Two unrelated shootings left five people injured Friday night in the Bronx, according to authorities. All the victims were hospitalized and are expected to recover, police added.
The Uniformed pointed out that a man and a woman were shot inside a house in Barnes Avenue in Williamsbridge following an alleged dispute. The 39-year-old woman was shot in the chest and the 40-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
The suspect fled the scene, but an official description of the suspect was not provided.
A few hours earlier, the police claimed that two men and a woman were sitting inside a car when another vehicle stopped and someone started shooting. The victims are between 20 and 23 years old.
Investigators say the alleged gunman was inside a white Nissan sedan when he stopped near the victims’ car around 7:30 p.m. near Tiffany Street and 163rd in South Bronx. Police say it is unclear whether the victims were the target of the shooting.
The victims of both shootings are expected to recover.
The police investigation is ongoing and detectives are working to find clues from the public in any of the incidents.
