These are Rahu – the Northern Lunar Node, “Dragon’s Head” and Ketu – the Southern Lunar Node or “Dragon’s Tail”. They are formed by the intersection of the Earth’s orbit with the Moon’s orbit relative to the ecliptic. Many ancient texts say that Rahu can act like Saturn and Ketu can act like Mars.
