The central government and relevant authorities in China are sparing no effort to help the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) fight against COVID-19, a spokesperson said Thursday.
Guo Weimin, spokesperson for the fifth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks at a press conference.
The CPPCC National Committee and its members have been actively engaged in assisting the HKSAR in the fight against COVID-19, and the HKSAR’s political advisers have played their part in working with all quarters to secure victory against the virus, Guo said.
With the powerful leadership of the central government, the support of people across the country, and the solidarity of the HKSAR government and its people, he is confident that the HKSAR will defeat the virus, Guo added.
