The statement was made by the Russian Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) on Wednesday (20/10/2021).
“On October 19, 2021, Russian airspace control devices detected an aerial target approaching the state border of the Russian Federation over the neutral waters of the Black Sea,” the ministry said.

“In order to identify air targets and prevent violations of the Russian state borders, two Su-30 warplanes from the Black Sea Fleet’s air flight were deployed,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

According to the statement, the air targets were identified as two US Air Force strategic B-1B supersonic bombers. The bomber was accompanied by two KC-135 tankers.

Russian planes intercepted and closely escorted them over the Black Sea.
