Two ‘Riga Jurmala’ Academy master classes for vocalists and bassoonists are expected in June

According to the representatives of the festival “Riga Jurmala”, being one of the most demanded sopranos in the world, Olga Peretjatko gained international recognition by winning the prize in the prestigious Spanish singer Plasido Domingo competition “Operalia”. Since then, the musician has been a regular guest at almost all major opera houses, concert halls and festivals, including La Scala Opera House in Milan, the State Opera in Berlin, the Covent Garden Opera in London, the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, the Metropolitan Opera and more.

Simon Van Holen started learning the bassoon at the age of eight. In 2003, he began studying at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and later studied at the Robert Schuman School of Music in Düsseldorf with lecturer Gustavo Nunez, which he graduated in 2010. Van Holen was later invited to join the academies of the Zermatt Festival and Gustav Mahler. In 2011, the musician was appointed solo counterpart in the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, and since 2012 he has played this important role in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
