VIVA Techno – Even though Telescope Outer space James Webb (JWST) just officially released some images, but that didn’t stop netizens from continuing to dig into the raw data to see their latest findings.
One of them is Judy Schmidt, who has spent years turning raw space data into stunning images. One of them is a picture of two spiral galaxies.
The first image is of the “Phantom Galaxy” nearly a million miles away from our planet using JWST’s center-infrared observatory (MIRI) instrument.
This image highlights the dust path in the galaxy, known as NGC 628 or Messier 74. It is dubbed the “perfect spiral” by some astronomers because the galaxy is so symmetrical.
This Phantom Galaxy is also very interesting because scientists believe there is a black hole embedded in its heart, quoted from the site SpaceSunday, July 24, 2022.
The second image is NGC 7496 located just 24 million light-years away, also known as a barred spiral galaxy, with spiral arms extending from distinct rods that cross the galactic center.
This is thought to be the result of uneven density in the galaxy’s disk and denser regions pulling stars toward it to make the bars.
