Two agents of the Public Security Police were beaten this morning in Funchal, at Rua Bela de São Tiago.
Both were transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça but, it seems, are not in danger of life.
According to the DIÁRIO, the aggression occurred around 8 am. The PSP was called to a residence because a man was very upset, but was poorly received by the resident.
The individual, a man in his 50s, armed himself with an iron and a knife and stabbed police officers who were trying to immobilize him.
One of the agents suffered injuries to his leg and the other to his abdomen. Assistance to the victims was provided by a team from the Portuguese Red Cross, which ensured the transport of one of the agents to the Emergency Department of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. The other followed in a private vehicle.
As for the aggressor, he was eventually arrested on the spot.
