On Saturday, November 30th, at 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 1st, at 11 a.m., the Bocholt-Isselburg music school is hosting two pre-Christmas concerts in the Drosselsaal of the LWL Textile Museum. Entry is free.
This year, the Bocholt Isselburg music school is once again presenting its traditional concerts in the run-up to Christmas. The ensembles have rehearsed a varied program. In the first concert on Saturday, the percussion ensemble (leader: Christoph Niessen), the band “Pineapple Juice” (leader: Jan Schulz), the plucked orchestra “Vielsaitig” (leader: Jörn Weinrich) and the brass circle will play, accompanied by singers from the Singing class (led by Ruben van Schijndel and Christa Warnke).
On Sunday, the strings of the youth orchestra and the youth symphony orchestra (conductor: Gabriele Nußberger), the Mini-Winds (conductor: Gido van Schijndel) and the youth wind orchestra with strings (conductor: Guido Schrader and Gabriele Nußberger) will perform the concert.
The concerts are organized together with the parents and support group of the music school. Free tickets can be purchased via the “Eveeno” booking system https://eveeno.com/vorweihnachtskonzerte2024 can be booked online. Admission is 30 minutes before the concert begins.
What are the challenges faced by choir teachers like Mrs. Christa Warnke when preparing students for performances, particularly during the busy pre-Christmas season?
Thank you for joining us today on World Today News. We have with us two special guests, Mrs. Christa Warnke, a choir teacher at the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School, and Mr. Gido van Schijndel, a conductor for the Mini-Winds ensemble.
Mr. van Schijndel, could you tell us more about the preparations for the pre-Christmas concerts? How long have you been rehearsing and what kind of music are you presenting this year?
Mrs. Warnke, as a choir teacher, what is your role in these concerts? Can you describe your contribution to the overall performance and how your students are feeling about the upcoming events?
Now, moving onto the venue. The Drossalsaal of the LWL Textile Museum is a unique and beautiful setting for these concerts. What do you think makes it such a special location for musical performances? Can you describe the atmosphere during the rehearsals and dress rehearsals?
Lastly, I’d like to touch on the participation of parents and the support group in organizing these concerts. Can you tell us more about their involvement and how it contributes to the success of these events?
Thank you both for your time and insights.
