In the case of an attack on law enforcement officers in Chernihiv, one of whom died, two patrol policemen were reported on suspicion. They were suspected of leaving colleagues without help.
This was reported on Saturday, October 23rd in press service Attorney General’s Office. The tragedy took place on the night of October 2.
The investigation established that on that day, two law enforcement officers, while patrolling on Independence Street, saw a conflict between a group of young people and cops, who at that time were dressed in civilian clothes because they were on vacation.
However, they did not end the conflict, but left the scene. Investigators believe that law enforcement officers were in danger at the time, given the number of attackers. The UCP informs that after the policemen left, they continued to beat the men.
Recall that the attack on two police officers occurred in the Masany microdistrict in Chernigov on October 2… It was committed by four people. As a result of the beating, police captain Artur Erokhin died, and his colleague, Vladimir Savon, also a captain, was hospitalized. During the conflict, they were not on duty, as they were on vacation.
As it turned out later, the police were called to the place of the beating 5 times. The patrolmen came three times, but none of the participants in the fight was detained.
