Two police officers and a paramedic died this Sunday in a shooting in the American town of Burnsville (Minnesota), after going to a home for a report of domestic violence, according to local media.
Although at the moment hardly any details of the event have emerged, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara wrote on his X social network account: “Please pray for the Burnsville Police Department this morning.”
According to the Pioneer Press newspaper, which cites police sources, officers went to a local residence today to respond to a call about domestic violence, and were involved in a shootout.
The Star Tribune, for its part, explains that the paramedic was shot when he tried to help one of the wounded officers.
The Democratic senator from Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar, wrote today in X that she learned about the incident from the Police. “John (the senator’s husband) and I prayed for them, their families and the Burnsville Police Department this morning,” she wrote. EFE
