“This terrorist attack has failed, and Saleh is healthy and well,” said the head of Saleh’s press office.
One of Saleh’s subordinates told the AFP news agency that a suicide bomber had attacked a Saleh convoy on his way from the vice president’s home to work.
Several nearby buildings were damaged in the explosion.
Saleh is First Deputy President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghana.
