A man has been arrested by the New York Police on charges of stabbing and killing two people and seriously wounding a third in Manhattan. The alleged killer is a 51-year-old homeless man arrested in recent months and released for unclear reasons. Mayor Eric Adams: “This is a clear example of a system that continues to fail citizens.”

The police of New York arrested a man suspected of stabbing and killing two people e seriously injured a third in Manhattan. According to what was reported by the authorities, the attack was apparently unmotivated.

As US newspapers report, the stabbings they began today morning, Monday 18 November, around 8.30 am, when the first victim, a 36 year old manwas fatally shot in the abdomen.

The murder occurred in a construction site on West 19th Street, where the victim was working, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said. Two hours later the second victim, a 68 year old man, she was stabbed multiple times on East 30th Street.

The third attack occurred shortly before 11 a.m., when a woman was attacked at 42nd Street and First Avenue in Midtown. The woman would be hospitalized in critical conditions.

Police said they recovered two bloody kitchen knives in relation to the case.

“Following these attacks there are two innocent victims and another injured person fighting for his life,” the NYPD Chief of Detectives said Joseph Kenny at a press conference.

Kenny added that police do not suspect any other attackers were involved. The alleged perpetrator of the stabbings is a 51enne who lives in one homeless shelter, the Bellevue shelter on East 30th Street, the ABC News. Police said he would choose his victims at random.

“He approached them and started attacking them with knives,” Kenny explained. The murderer was caught between the 46th Street ee la First Avenuethe agents said. Currently it is detained in a police precinct.
