Two people in their 60s were picked up by a rescue helicopter and transported to shore after the boat capsized.
The Central Rescue Service (HRS) announced this on Twitter.
– It was the weather that meant we had to use a rescue helicopter, and it was difficult to do anything with the boat, so it is left on the spot, rescue manager Johan Mannsåker told VG on Saturday evening.
At 21.25 it was known that they had been picked up and transported ashore to be checked by health.
– It goes according to what we know well, said Mannsåker.
It was at 19.46 on Saturday evening that a message went over the coastal radio about a fishing boat taking in water outside Lillesand.
The boat lost power due to the amount of water, and drifted inwards towards land.
The rescue crews had the rescue boat Askeladden on the scene, but the weather was “too fierce” to retrieve them by boat.
