Step.- Two people were arrested and prosecuted on capital murder charges, following the events that occurred earlier this month in Shawver Park where two people lost their lives and one more was seriously injured, it was reported.
They are Miguel Ángel Marín, 17, and Martín Rodríguez, 32, both residents of El Paso Mission Valley, who were not granted the right to bail for the type of crime they are charged with.
Marín and Rodríguez were located and taken into custody by elements of the El Paso Police Department and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
After obtaining the arrest warrants, Marín was arrested on Saturday, November 20 and Rodríguez on Tuesday, November 23.
The suspects were admitted to the El Paso County Detention Center, but so far law enforcement authorities have not revealed any apparent motive for the shooting at the victims.
The detectives in charge of the investigation said that “the three victims were sitting in a parked car (in Shawver Park) and were accosted by the suspects, who shot them several times and fled the scene in a vehicle.”
Authorities identified one of the victims as Steven Lopez, 18, of eastern El Paso, but the identities of the other two victims were not released.
The other murdered minor was 16 years old and resided in the Lower Valley, while a 14-year-old teenager was injured in the events, and remained hospitalized.
