The FDNY reports that two men in their 50s died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a building in Brooklyn. Four other residents suffered the effects to a lesser extent.
The incident occurred at 170 Ave O around 8 p.m.
The FDNY reported that there are no carbon monoxide detectors in the building, which may have saved the lives of both residents.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the leak came from a boiler.
All four affected people declined hospitalization.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
