A female driver violently attacked two pedestrians in the Arsenal district of Tarbes at the end of last week because they crossed on a red light.
Surreal scene at the end of the week in the Arsenal district of Tarbes. As they had just left a restaurant on foot, two young women in their twenties started to cross a pedestrian crossing while the traffic light authorizing the crossing had just turned red.
A slightly out-of-the-ordinary attitude that a motorist did not appreciate at all, and which gave rise to a rather unpleasant verbal exchange between the pedestrians and the driver. Although the latter rolled down her window to hurl some very salty insults, her anger was not appeased. The woman parked her vehicle in a parking lot before getting out, determined to fight.
Blows and tear gas
In front of several witnesses, the driver rushed towards the two pedestrians who continued on their way. After tear gassing them, she headbutted one and kicked the second in the back. A violent scene reported by the two victims to the police, corroborated by those present.
The driver was arrested and subjected to an alcohol and drug test. She tested negative for drugs and had nearly 0.80 g of alcohol in her blood. Placed in police custody, the driver admitted to insulting and tear-gassing the two pedestrians in front of the police officers but denied hitting them. When confronted with the various testimonies collected, she did not budge from her position.
She will soon have to explain herself to the prosecutor’s delegate and will have to take a citizenship course.
