“The two collectives wanted to go beyond what made their differences to offer the Niortais a real alternative to Jérôme Baloge”, explains Sébastien Mathieu, from “Niort next to the left”. The outgoing mayor who announced his candidacy for a second term Friday, January 24.
François Gibert, 68-year-old retired business owner is always at the top of the list. “In the end, there were very few concessions because what brought us together fairly quickly were the values, the program”, specifies Sébastien Mathieu. There were notably discussions around the place of the parties. “Niort citizen, ecological and united” wanted to respect certain rules recalls François Gibert. “No more than 50% of inserts and even if people come from the parties, that there is a renewal”.

18 local meetings
The country room of “Niort new energy” will be located Clou-Bouchet district. The list provided 18 local meetings with a citizen café and a local meeting in each district.
