NEW YORKNew York State Police say they arrested two 20-year-old Queens men for allegedly firing a gun at another vehicle in a road rage showdown on the Cross Bronx Expressway on Monday, all while suspects had a baby in their car.

State Police sergeants were in a parking lot when two people approached them around 2:30 p.m. and said they had shot their car while driving after some kind of road rage altercation. It is unclear what sparked the fight.

The victims gave the sergeants a description of the other vehicle involved and the State Police found it shortly afterwards. Devontae Jefferson, Angel Sang and a baby, who was not injured, were in the car, State Police say. A pistol and a loose cartridge were found inside the vehicle, police said.

Neither Jefferson nor Sang were in legal possession of the weapon and both were arrested on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. The baby was given to a relative.

Sang faces additional charges related to being a suspected fugitive as he has an active court order outside of Florida for failing to appear in court. He and Jefferson are both awaiting prosecution.

No information from the defendants’ attorneys was immediately available.
