‘Two nights above the tree; He kept alive by drinking water from the river cheruthoni | idukki | forest | jomon joseph | manoramanews

Churuthoni: The young man was left alone for two nights and one day in the forest where wild deer roamed. The young man reached the residential area yesterday morning after a 40-hour journey. Jomon Joseph (34) lost his way in the forest at Upputhod New Mount Karanji.

On Friday afternoon, Jomon and his friend Vellakallungal Anish Das (30) came to see the Maniyarankudi elephant trunk view point in Vazhathop panchayat. From here the two parted ways.

Later, Jomon went missing. Jomon’s mobile phone was also switched off. According to Anish who returned, locals, relatives and police searched the area since Friday evening but could not find him.

Jomon says that while descending from the viewpoint, he came across a herd of wildebeests. An antler and four pitianas came after Jomon when they saw him.

Running away from the herd of wildebeests, he reached a stream. Here the charge of the mobile phone is gone. When it got dark, he climbed a tree and sat down. When it was dawn, he walked down along the river bank.

Everything was forgotten in the elephant farm. When he got tired of walking, he drew water from the river and drank it. On Saturday night too, he climbed a tree on the bank of the river. The process continued yesterday morning. Jomon says that he finally reached Malainchi around 7:30 in the morning.
