FC Flyeralarm Admira announced the signing of two new players on Monday. Midfielder Aleksandar Kostic comes on a free transfer from Blau-Weiss Linz, central defender Muhammet Araz joins Südstadt from Austria Wien Young Violets. Kostic signs until summer 2024, Araz receives a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old Kostic enjoyed his football training at Rapid Wien (10 Bundesliga appearances) and most recently played for three years at Blau-Weiss Linz in the 2nd division. In total, the midfielder played 83 games for Linz, contributing 13 goals and 18 assists.
The 18-year-old Araz moved in 2017 from Wr. Sport-Club in the youth of Austria and celebrated his debut with the Young Violets in the 2nd division last season.
“Aleksandar Kostic has shown at Blau-Weiss over the past three years that he can be a reinforcement for any team. We’re hoping for a similar number of scorer points from him as last time and that he can lead us through this 2nd league season. With Muhammet Araz, the chance arose that the player was on the market because he didn’t come into his own at Austria. We struck because Muhammet is a very promising talent and should put pressure on the established central defenders in conjunction with Jakob Schöller.”, explains sports director Marcel Ketelaer.
