Two new boats are intercepted in Benidorm and Pilar de la Horadada with 13 immigrants on board | Radio Alicante | Present

After the four arrivals to the Alicante coast this weekend in Alicante, Xàbia and Santa Pola, this morning two new boats have been detected. Between twelve and thirteen immigrants, at least one of them a minor, were intercepted after reaching the Alicante coast at the height of Benidorm, one of them and Pilar de la Horadada, the other.

According to the Alicante Red Cross, the first of the boats reached Benidorm’s Levante beach at around 3.40 am with six people, all men of Algerian origin and one of them 17 years old.

The second was located around 5:20 am on the ground in Pilar de la Horadada, in the extreme south of the province, and between six and seven people have been intercepted.

The immigrants from the two boats have been transferred to the port of Alicante to be treated by the Red Cross and subjected to a PCR test to detect possible cases of covid-19.

These immigrants are added to the 41 arrivals during the weekend to the coasts of the province of Alicante.
