In addition, Mr. B, a woman in her 20s, who entered the country on the 24th via Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from the UK was infected with the same virus. In the case of Mr. A, three family members living with him were also diagnosed with Corona 19. It has not been confirmed whether they are infected with the mutant virus. However, it was found that one of them entered Korea first on the 8th of last month, was released from quarantine, and then went to a hospital and a beauty salon at a mart. Corona 19 diagnostic tests are also in progress for 4 people who contacted during this process.
Upon entering the country on the 24th, Mr. B was confirmed at the airport quarantine office and transferred to the life treatment center. Like Mr. B, there is no way to restrict entry, even if he has stayed in the UK if he passes through other countries. The quarantine authorities have conducted genetic analysis on 16 confirmed patients from the UK since October this year, and have confirmed the mutant virus in 5 so far. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases related to the Seoul East Detention Center, where a large-scale group infection occurred, was counted as 792 as of 0 o’clock on the day. The number of confirmed cases of correctional facilities nationwide, including the North Gyeongsangbuk-do Second Prison, reaches 837.
