Two minors died and three were injured when a truck hit a tricycle in Sagay City, Philippines.

Two minors were killed and three others were injured when a truck crashed into a tricycle in Barangay Plaridel, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on 8 April. The truck was reportedly speeding with 15 passengers inside and returning from an outing. Driver Vengie Noynay, 35, who was allegedly drunk, did not slow down despite advice from relatives and companions, causing him to hit the tricycle and overshoot into a sugarcane field. The two children, aged 12 and 13, who had been sitting on the truck’s bumper, died in hospital. The three survivors had minor injuries and have since been discharged. Noynay is expected to face charges for his behaviour when police arrived at the scene.
