– Almost two million people infected with coronavirus worldwide were added last week, the highest weekly balance yet, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The situation is worse, especially in Europe, where deaths with covid-19 are increasing rapidly and many countries are tightening restrictive measures.
– British Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced new measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Newly pubs, bars and restaurants close at 10 pm, in businesses it will be possible to be only at the table. If possible, the British should work from home. Mandatory airway cover applies to retail staff, taxi customers, and employees and hospitality customers.
– On Wednesday, Germany will probably classify practically the entire Czech Republic among the risk areas and will require a coronavirus or quarantine test to enter its territory. Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček told Czech journalists today in Brussels. According to him, the Czechia is negotiating exceptions for cross-border workers, for example. Germany already considers Prague and the Central Bohemian Region to be epidemiologically risky areas, writes ČTK.
– Brazil records another 13,439 new cases of coronavirus infection and another 377 patients with covid-19 have died. In South America’s largest country, which has a population of about 210 million, more than 4.5 million people have become infected since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 137,272 have been infected.
