Afghan officials said three gunmen attacked the headquarters of the Islamic Party, led by veteran politician Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, and attempted to storm it after detonating a car bomb near it.
Gert Bahir, a party official, told AFP that two of the attackers were killed as they tried to storm the Kabul headquarters, which also includes a mosque, while a third managed to escape.
He added: “The car exploded on the outside, causing little damage.”
