NEW YORK – Two young men were killed outside a NYCHA compound in Manhattan, one of whom sustained fatal injuries, the New York City Police Department said Thursday.
The shooting took place inside a building located at 635 East 12 Street at around 7:34 pm and police learned of the incident after receiving a call to the emergency services.
Once there, officers identified two men with gunshot wounds. Police found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his torso, who was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals / Bellevue by emergency medical services. He was pronounced dead in the hospital, according to the NYPD.
Additionally, a 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg and was also transported to New York Health and Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition.
Police have not made any arrests and investigations remain active.
