Two Men Lose Their Lives During a Gunfight After an Alleged Dispute in The Bronx – NBC New York (47)

Two men have died and a third is in custody after a dispute in the Bronx on Saturday night turned violent.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. Saturday in front of a building on the block 300 from East 198th Street. Police said Arnold Oliver, 24, was shot in the torso and Jamal Smith, 28, in the face.

Both were transported to St. Barnabas, where they died. Another man, Wayne Smith, also 28, was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The murders add to the rising number of gun violence in New York City this year. As of last Sunday, the number of shooting incidents and the number of victims of those incidents are up 30% this year from last year.
