Two Men in Mössingen Suffer Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Climbing into Heating System Tank – Urgent Warning Issued

Two men in Mössingen (Tübingen district) are believed to have suffered carbon monoxide poisoning because they climbed into the pellet tank of a heating system. A 58-year-old wanted to repair the underground tank in his garden on Saturday afternoon, but fell unconscious due to the lack of oxygen, the police said on Sunday.

His wife called 911 and called for help, which prompted a 62-year-old neighbor to come and climb into the tank to rescue the man. But the 62-year-old also became unconscious and the two men had to be rescued from the underground tank by a fire department breathing apparatus. The emergency services took them to special clinics. An emergency follow-up service looked after the relatives.
