Several young men had filmed themselves forcing three pedestrians to run clinging to their car on the evening of Saturday January 8 in Noisy-le-Sec (Seine-Saint-Denis).
The investigation was very quick after the broadcast of a video where we see young men, hilarious, attacking several pedestrians. Widely circulated on social media, several of the perpetrators have been identified.
The main suspect, the driver, thus surrendered himself on the Monday following the facts “in a parking lot, meeting place set with the investigation services, where he was arrested”says a press release from the Bobigny prosecutor’s office.
A second man also surrendered on the same day by going to the town police station.
The two men were immediately indicted by an examining magistrate. Both for intentional violence. The driver also for “driving despite the suspension of his license” and the second, also for “dissemination of images relating to the commission of an offense of willful attack on the integrity of the person”.
The prosecution states that “third individual, present in the vehicle during the events, presented himself today (January 13, editor’s note), to the police station where he was placed in police custody”.
The alleged perpetrators are believed to have had at least three victims. The first, who also testified on franceinfo, suffered a broken shoulder and foot resulting in “45 days of total incapacity for work”.
“There were four men in a car. One of them, the driver, asked me for a cigarette. I wanted to give it to him, he grabbed my hand, he didn’t let go, I couldn’t loosen his grip and he said to me ‘you are going to run now’. He accelerated for 100 meters, I ran. After he let go of me, I fell face down”, says Ali, 67 years old. The latter claims that he was offered 1,000 euros to withdraw his complaint.
The Bobigny prosecution reports that the second victim, who appears on the video, has not yet been identified. A third, a young woman, also filed a complaint for similar acts suffered the next day, Sunday evening.
