The operation took place in Lules, prompted by a complaint from a resident of that city.
Two men aged 40 and 25 were arrested this Thursday in Lules, when they were traveling in a blood-powered cart moved by a horse that showed obvious signs of abuse.
The operation originated from a neighbor’s complaint, which led to members of the police Motorized Patrol and the municipal Urban Guard being present at the scene.
When they arrived they were able to verify that the animal tied to the cart showed clear signs of abuse, as it was underweight with signs of cachexia and irregular growth of rear blood vessels.
Faced with such a situation, they removed the animal from the harness that held it to the vehicle and transferred it to the premises of a foundation that is responsible for rescuing horses in such conditions.
As for the perpetrators of the damage, it was found that they reside in El Manantial and both were detained until they respond for the infraction of animal abuse in which they were involved.
