The curse continues. Two members of the Kennedy family were still missing Friday evening after a canoe trip Thursday, according to Maryland authorities in the United States.

Maeve Kennedy McKean, 40, and her son Gideon, 8, have not returned from a trip to Chesapeake Bay, state governor Larry Hogan told a news briefing. “Intensive research has been carried out since yesterday (Thursday) evening with the police, the coast guard and the fire brigade,” he announced.

Murders, accidents, overdoses…

Maeve is the daughter of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. The latter is the eldest daughter of former Minister of Justice Robert Kennedy and the niece of John F. Kennedy. President of the United States for three years, he
had been murdered in Dallas on November 22, 1963. In June 1968,
his younger brother Robert, in a good position to win the Democratic primaries, had been killed in Los Angeles.

One of Robert Kennedy’s sons, David, died at the age of 28 of a cocaine overdose in a Florida hotel in 1984. Then in 1999, JFK’s son, “John John”, died with his wife, Carolyn, and his sister-in-law Lauren in the crash of the plane he piloted in Massachusetts.

Saoirse Kennedy Hill, a granddaughter of Robert Kennedy, also died last year of an overdose, at the age of 22.
