Two Los Angeles police officers are ambushed and shot, both in critical condition – Telemundo Phoenix / Tucson

LOS ANGELES, California – Two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were ambushed and shot near the Blue Line Metro station and are in critical health, according to authorities.

The victims, a 24-year-old agent and a 31-year-old woman, had to undergo surgery due to the severity of their injuries. Authorities are looking for the suspect in the violent incident in the city of Compton.

A security camera captured the moment when the suspect walks towards the police patrol in which the two agents were and fires the trigger several times. Then he runs off.

The authorities reported that the suspect has not been captured and are carrying out the search operation to find his whereabouts.

“An officer and female officer were ambushed while sitting in their police car. They both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and are in critical condition,” the Los Angeles Police Department reported in a tweet.

The LASD posted a video of the attack in a tweet and said the suspect opened fire without provocation. The FBI reported that any necessary assistance was offered and would be provided to LASD.

Metro says there will be no Line A (Blue) service between Artesia Boulevard and Willowbrook / Rosa Parks Avenue for the remainder of the night due to the shooting of the Sheriff’s two transit services officers. Passengers must use Metro Bus 55 or shuttles.

This is a developing story.
