Two 12-year-old girls were injured while crossing the street on the pedestrian crossing, in the area of the town hall, in Borcea, Galaţi, reports news.ro
According to IPJ Galaţi, the accident took place in the afternoon, on DN 25, inside the town of Barcea.
From the preliminary checks, the police officers from the Galati Road Service determined that a man, aged 48, from Lieşti commune, Galati county, while driving a van on DN 25, heading from Galati to Tecuci, inside the town of Barcea, when he reached the pedestrian marking located in front of the town hall, he surprised and injured two minors, both 12 years old, from the town of Barcea, who were crossing the street in a regular manner.
Following the road accident, the two minors were injured, one of them being transported by helicopter to the Emergency Hospital for Children “Sfântul Ioan” Galati, and the other to the Municipal Hospital “Anton Cincu” in Tecuci.
The driver who caused the accident has a valid driver’s license, and the result of the breathalyzer test was negative.
The police have drawn up a criminal file for the crime of culpable bodily harm, reports news.ro
