The past few years have witnessed an increase in the incidence and prevalence of prostate cancer all over the world, making it the most common non-skin cancer among men today, according to Russia Today.

The following are two less common signs of the disease that should not be ignored:

Nocturnal urination

It’s known to be a condition that involves getting up more than once a night to go to the bathroom.

Urology Care commented: “People should be able to sleep for six to eight hours during the night without having to use the toilet. It is important to remember that nocturnal urination is a sign of something going on in our bodies.”

This may indicate, for example, prostate cancer, although it may also be a sign of an enlarged prostate.

Pain when urinating

Pain or burning during urination may occur because prostate cancer affects the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the penis, known as the urethra.

Pain when urinating is the most common symptom of chlamydia.

If a man has chlamydia, he may also have white, cloudy or watery secretions from the top of the penis, burning or itching in the urethra, or pain in the testicles.

It is highly recommended that you visit a GP if any of these symptoms occur.

Cancers occur when a cell’s DNA has multiple mutations, which then cause cells to grow at an uncontrollable rate, which then accumulates to a cancerous tumor.

It is not clear what causes prostate cancer, but some factors may increase a person’s risk of developing the disease.

According to Cancer Research UK, aging is a major risk factor.
