Two killed in shooting at US high school graduation ceremony

Two people were killed in a shooting after a graduation ceremony for high school students in the US state of Virginia, Reuters reported, citing police, citing BTA. The tragedy took place in the state capital, Richmond.

A shooter opened fire in a park when students and their parents started leaving the theater after the ceremony ended. The police detained the attacker, who is a 19-year-old youth. His motive is not yet known, but he knew at least one of the people he shot.

The murdered men were 18 and 36 years old, respectively. One of the injured, aged 31, is in a life-threatening condition. The other four injured are also men.

During the commotion, a 9-year-old girl was injured by a car.
