Two men were killed in a shooting at a Mercedes factory in Sindelfingen, Germany, near Stuttgart. The shooter, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested. No one else was injured.

Police received a report of the shooting around 7:45 am. Many emergency services are present at the factory. Two helicopters, emergency doctors and many policemen turned out. The victims, two men aged 44, were employed by an external service provider.

The motive of the perpetrator is unknown. Police believe he acted alone.

About 35,000 people work at the car factory in Sindelfingen. Mercedes says it is deeply shocked and saddened by the news. “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and all colleagues at the scene,” it said in a statement.
