Two individuals have unfortunately lost their lives after being struck by an Amtrak train in Chester, Delaware County. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the Amtrak tracks near the 400 block of Wilson Street. According to officials, the 161 Amtrak southbound train to Washington D.C. was involved in the accident. At this time, there is no word on the identities of the victims or their ages. However, witnesses reported seeing a group of children on the train tracks prior to the incident. Authorities are currently investigating to determine the cause of the accident. In response to this tragic event, Amtrak has suspended service between Wilmington and Philadelphia, and SEPTA has suspended service on the Wilmington line.
