In the last tour of tourism promotion that Durango made to the city of Dallas, talks were held with the company Volaris, regarding the reactivation of flights to the United States, Elvira Silerio Díaz, undersecretary of Tourism of the State, commented that previously there were two flights Internationals that were Durango-Los Angeles and Durango-Dallas and this is expected to be enabled this summer.
“Communication with Volaris was opened and we are confident that these two international flights will recover in the summer or if not at the end of the summer,” he declared.
If the destinations to Los Angeles and Dallas are specified, Durango will again have four international flights, including Durango-Chicago.
On the other hand, the official commented that they expect a hotel occupancy goal in this summer 2021 of 70 or 80 percent and with this it will be known how the flow of tourists to Durango is going.
Likewise, for this 2021 they have bet heavily on sports and with these they can have an economic spill for this summer.
“Hotel occupancy we set a goal for Easter, which was to regain 50 percent occupancy, we stayed a little down, we reached 43 percent, but for a destination in Durango that is neither sun nor beach, it is a colonial city was satisfactory and by this summer we hope to reach 70 or 80 percent occupation, “he said.
