Two injured in Union Square subway attack – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – A man and woman were injured after being cut at the Union Square subway station in Manhattan, according to police.

The violence erupted just before 10.30pm on Tuesday on the L line platform, the uniformed woman said. While it was unclear what led up to the crash, one woman received a cut to her face and one man received multiple cuts to his head.

Both victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital, according to police, and are expected to survive.

The suspect fled soon after. It was not known whether the victims and the suspect knew each other or if some other circumstance had led to the interruptions.

No arrests have yet been made. An investigation is underway.
