Two people were injured in a shooting in Van Kerckhovenstraat in Antwerp-Noord on Friday evening. The victims are not in mortal danger. The shooter is still on the run.
The shooting incident happened around 9 p.m. in Van Kerckhovenstraat. “Two people were found injured with gunshot wounds,” said police spokesman Willem Migom. “The victims are not in mortal danger. It concerns two men.”
The perpetrator fled after the incident. The street and crime scene were closed off so investigators could do their work. “The motive for the shooting is not yet known. This will be the subject of further research.”
Police are on scene investigating and have established a perimeter. No suspect has been arrested so far. The Antwerp public prosecutor’s office has opened a preliminary investigation, a trace investigation has already been carried out at the scene of the facts.
