The Brussels North police zone was called around 12:30 am to reports of shots fired on Lehonplein in Schaerbeek. Emergency services found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. “A second victim was found shortly afterwards in De Potterstraat. The life of one of the victims is in danger,” said spokeswoman Audrey Dereymaeker of the Brussels North police zone. “It is too early to draw conclusions about the reason for the shooting.” The public prosecutor’s office will communicate later today.
There have been several shootings in Brussels recently, which may be related to violence between drug gangs.
