In the night of Saturday, April 15, 2023 at around 1:00 a.m., several people were physically attacked by two unknown perpetrators near Bollwerk/ Speichergasse in Bern. On Saturday, April 15, 2023, shortly before 1 a.m., the Bern cantonal police received a report that several people had been attacked by two unknown perpetrators in the Speichergasse in Bern. On site, the emergency services met two injured men.
According to initial findings, the two men and three women were coming from the Lorraine Bridge in the direction of the city center when they were approached by two strangers at Bollwerk/ Speichergasse. As a result, fisticuffs broke out between those involved. Two men were thrown to the ground and sustained injuries from a sharp object.
The two unknown perpetrators then moved away in the direction of the bulwark. Third parties took care of the two injured men until rescue workers arrived. They were finally taken to the hospital by an ambulance team.
Both perpetrators are said to have been wearing blue jeans and dark jackets at the time of the crime. One of them was also carrying a black backpack. They are described as 30 to 35 years old, about 160 to 170 centimeters tall and are said to have both spoken French.
To clarify the events, the cantonal police in Bern, led by the regional public prosecutor’s office in Bern-Mittelland, have started investigations and are looking for witnesses.
