Two Indonesian Representatives Face Malaysian Envoys

KOMPAS.com – Events Badminton Asia Championship 2022 or the Badminton Asia Championships has entered the peak or final round.

Competition final Badminton Asia Championship scheduled to take place at Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Manila, Philippines, Sunday (1/5/2022).

There are two Indonesian representatives who still have the chance to win the 2022 Badminton Asia Championship.

The two Indonesian representatives came from the men’s doubles and men’s singles sectors. They are Pramudya Kusumawardana/Jeremiah Erich Yacob Rambitan and Jonathan Christie.

Pramudya/Yeremia advanced to the final of the Badminton Asia Championships after winning the Red and White duel against Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Pramudya/Jeremiah beat Fajar/Rian through a fierce game rubber game or three games with scores of 22-20, 13-21, and 21-18.

The victory led Pramudya/Yeremia to face fifth seed from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, in the final round.

Just like Pramudya/Yeremia, Jonatan Christie also sealed the final ticket after defeating Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo in a match titled the Red and White duel.

Jonatan Christie ended the resistance of Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo through a three-game drama with a score of 21-9, 18-21, and 21-16.

In the final later, Jonatan Christie will face Lee Zii Jia (Malaysia) as the third seed in this tournament.

The match between Jonathan Christie and Lee Zii Jia will be the sixth meeting between the two in the official badminton competition.

Overall, Jonathan Christie still holds the meeting record with four wins and one defeat from five matches.
