Two incidents with the AstraZeneca vaccine in Greece

At least two of three cases of blood clotting in Greece are related to the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19, Kathimerini reported.

The newspaper cites a preliminary report by the National Medicines Organization published late Friday.

A 35-year-old man from Ierapetra on the island of Crete was hospitalized after receiving two blood clots just days after receiving the vaccine. His life is reportedly out of danger now.

A 44-year-old woman was in serious condition at Heraklion Island University Hospital with a rare but severe type of blood clot – thrombotic thrombocytopenia caused by a vaccine.

Authorities, meanwhile, were still investigating the case of a 47-year-old woman at the same clinic. The woman became paralyzed after receiving the vaccine.
