Two Incidents of Drones Threatening Passenger Flights in Russian Airspace

Two incidents involving drones that posed a threat to passenger flights occurred in Russian airspace the day before, on September 23.

“A drone in the sky almost turned around two passenger planes flying to Moscow. The blue-and-white UAV was reported by the crews of an Airbus A320 and Boeing 738, who saw the drone with their own eyes right from the cockpit,” the Mash telegram channel reports today, September 24.

The pilots of flight AFL1339 Mineralnye Vody – Moscow reported a UFO the day before, September 23, at approximately noon. According to the commander, it was very similar to a drone about a meter long, which was moving towards the capital at an altitude of approximately 2.6 km. It later turned out that the drone was flying lower.

“Within 15 minutes, dispatchers received a second similar message – from flight AFL1269 Kazan – Moscow. The situation is the same, but the UAV was already at an altitude of approximately 1.8 km,” writes TK.

It is noted that both aircraft did not turn around.
