On Tuesday afternoon, two bathing accidents in Lake Zurich occurred in the Badi Tiefenbrunnen within two hours. One ended fatally: Despite immediate resuscitation measures, a woman died on the spot. Shortly after 2.30 p.m., the city police received the message that a woman was being resuscitated in the Tiefenbrunnen lido, the message said. The woman had previously been discovered by other bathers and passed out in the water. A bath employee and a doctor who happened to be present started the resuscitation measures. The pensioner was then brought to the hospital in critical condition.
Identity unclear
The police were still in the pool when the lifeguard discovered another woman about 50 meters from the shore floating around in the water around 4.30 p.m. Despite resuscitation, the woman died on the spot.
The exact identity of the deceased is still unclear. But she was middle-aged, says the Stapo spokeswoman on request. The circumstances of the incident and the cause of death are being clarified.
