On April 9, an Easter concert of the women’s folk choir “Tsvetnitsa” and the folk dance troupe “Samodivi” took place in Erlangen, a joint project of the Bulgarian Student Association “Golden Age” in Nuremberg and the Consulate General in Munich.
The concert was opened with folk dance performances by the student dance group “Samodivi”. The program continued with performances by the women’s folk choir “Tsvetnitsa”, created in 2005 at the community center “Asen Zlatarov” in Varna with artistic director and conductor Atanas Iliev. The choir presented selected songs from its repertoire, which includes over 25 solo, chamber, ensemble and a cappella songs, orthodox chants, samples of processed folk songs by emblematic authors in the genre – Filip Kutev, Krasimir Kyurkchiyski, Nikolay Kaufman, Stefan Mutafchiev, Atanas Iliev and etc. The concert in the city of Erlangen is part of the current tour of the Tsvetnitsa choir, covering the cities of Erlangen, Obersteinbach and Bremen in Germany, as well as Budapest and Paris. The two-hour Easter concert was welcomed with interest by the friends of Bulgarian culture in Bavaria and was attended by over 200 Bulgarian students and local guests. In connection with the Easter concert in the city of Erlangen, the Consulate General in Munich held a foreign Consular Day for Bulgarian citizens in the city.
