Wolfratshausen/Egling – At a ceremony organized by the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria in the Munich Varieté Theater, two graduates from the district received the master prize from the Bavarian state government.

With their outstanding examination performance, Manuel Andre Suder from Wolfratshausen (specialist for insurance and finance) and Michael Walser from Egling (IT project manager) belong to the group of 181 top young professionals in Upper Bavaria who were examined in 70 different disciplines.

In the past examination year 2022, more than 6,000 participants successfully completed their further training to become a master craftsman, business administrator, specialist merchant or business economist. The largest group among the IHK advanced training graduates are the certified business administrators. They were followed by commercial specialists, industrial masters in metal, business economists and personnel specialists.

Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder and Manfred Gößl, General Manager of the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria, congratulated the graduates. “As the best of the best, they ignite the turbo for their professional career, because with their knowledge and their skills they are very popular in our companies,” said Gößl in praise of the award winners: “As top-qualified specialists and executives, they are guarantors the successful economic future of Bavaria”.

“Our professional training is highly recognized around the world. That’s why we should also value them more,” said Söder and explained: Anyone who takes the equivalence of professional and academic education seriously should do the master’s degree free of charge. “We in Bavaria are leading the way with this. Our foremen have excellent career prospects and can be proud of themselves.”

Söder and Gößl also thanked the around 9,000 honorary examiners from the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria, whose expertise and commitment are indispensable in vocational training and further education. Gößl invited the graduates to contribute their specialist knowledge, their skills and their passion to vocational training in the future: “Everyone who trains on site in the companies and examines voluntarily at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce makes a personal contribution to new generations of skilled workers. They ensure that our local businesses can continue to build on top young talent.”

According to the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce skilled worker monitor, there is currently a shortage of more than 230,000 skilled workers in Bavaria. For this reason, the Bavarian state government has been promoting the promotion qualification since September 2013 with the master craftsman bonus. This was raised retroactively to January 1, 2023 from 2,000 to 3,000 euros. In 2022, the IHK for Munich and Upper Bavaria paid out master craftsman bonuses of 5.1 million euros to 2,550 master craftsman graduates.
