The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that the British AstraZeneca group is currently closest to developing an effective coronavirus vaccine. Moderna’s research promises to be just as promising.
The vaccine AstraZeneca is working on is the leading project in the world and the most advanced in terms of development – said WHO head researcher Dr. Soumya Swaminathan.
The American company Moderna, which is working on its own project, is also close to developing the vaccine.
Research is ongoing on over 100 possible vaccines against Covid-19. 15 of them have entered the phase of clinical tests – Reuters agency reminds.
Swaminathan also announced that WHO is conducting talks on a potential vaccine with many Chinese companies, including with Sinovac. She also called for international cooperation in clinical trials on vaccines
