Two Fox News employees killed in attack in Ukraine – VG

Fox News photographer Pierre Zakrzewski and journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova were killed in an attack north of Kyiv on Monday. Correspondent Ben Hall is still in hospital.

Zakrzewski (55), an Irish citizen living in London, and Kuvshynova (24) were with Hall da their vehicle was hit by gunfire.

Experienced war photographer

Earlier Tuesday, Fox News reported that Zakrzewski had been killed.

Fox describes Zakrzewski as an experienced war photographer who has covered almost all international events for Fox News, from Iraq to Syria, during his long career with us.

Anton Gerashenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, was the first to report to the Telegram that Kuvshynova was also killed in the attack. Only at 20.30 on Tuesday night did Fox News confirm that Kuvshynova had also been killed.

“We refrained from sharing this terrible news earlier today out of respect for her family, with whom we have been in constant contact,” said Fox CEO Scott.

“We send our deepest condolences to them,” says Scott.

She had been working with the Fox News team for the past month, informs Fox producer Yonat Friling.

Ukraine’s Attorney General Irina Venediktova announced on Monday that a journalist was seriously injured and receiving intensive care. It was later revealed that it was Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall.

Several other journalists were wounded in the war, among them ea journalist and a photographer from the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

The attacks on journalists have been condemned by several countries and organizations.
